SUTRA Study Immersion with Petra L. van Aarem

Patanjali’s Eight Limbed Path of Yoga and Wisdom of The Yoga Sutras

2.5 hour Immersion
Open Level

Did you know that the yoga postures we practice are just one limb of the eight limbed path of yoga? Join Petra for an afternoon of yoga philosophy and applied practice - some dynamic, some restorative - in this introduction to the wisdom of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras.

While yoga has its origins thousands of years ago in Indian Vedic culture, the practice was systematized by the great Indian sage, Patanjali, in the ancient text, The Yoga Sutras, in the 2nd century. The Yoga Sutras is widely understood to be one of the most significant texts on yoga.

In this afternoon immersion blending philosophy, asana (posture work), pranayama (breathwork), and meditation you will learn:

• The origins of yoga and the evolution to modern postural yoga
• The guidance of Patanjali’s Eight Limbed Path of Yoga
• How to apply the wisdom of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras to your practice and daily life
