A comprehensive foundational curriculum for dedicated practitioners who seek to deepen their knowledge of yoga, integrate the complete practice into their life and share this practice with others.

Through deep practice, experiential study, and plenty of practice teaching, this course will thoroughly prepare you to both live the principles of yoga and effectively transmit your knowledge in a thoughtful, purposeful, and balanced class. 

No intention to teach yoga? The skills and insight you will gain through the process of learning to teach are perhaps the most valuable lessons of yoga – integration of knowledge, union, connection, effective communication, understanding and the courage to be seen and see others in truth.

You will gain exposure to the classical lineages of Iyengar and Ashtanga Yoga, as well as the contemporary integrated system of Prajna Yoga and learn to teach classes to all levels for all phases life.

Curriculum includes:

  • History of yoga
  • Yoga Sutras of Patanjali
  • Basic structural anatomy
  • Anatomy and alignment of yoga postures
  • Anatomy of the subtle body
  • Pranayama
  • Meditation
  • Ayurveda
  • Interface of yoga and psychology
  • Art of self-practice
  • Class sequencing and theming
  • Art of teaching yoga – holding space, language, voice, effective cueing
  • Hands-on adjustments and assists
  • Teaching to diverse populations (pre/post-natal, injuries and limitations)
  • Ethics of teaching yoga – boundaries, safety and the business of yoga
  • Home study reading and writing assignments
  • One-on-one mentoring meetings with Petra and Susannah


$3,000 before September 1st ($500 deposit due upon registration, remainder of tuition due by September 1st)
$3,300 after September 1st
